World Antibiotic Awareness Week

Running from November 12-18, this global event aims to raise awareness of antibiotic resistance (AMR). What is AMR? AMR is when germs/viruses develop resistance to specific antibiotics after being exposed to it. As such, that particular antibiotic becomes less effective or ineffective when used to treat the infection. Such germs are informally called “superbugs”. They can spread from person to person and also through food. How can you protect yourself? Should you continue to take antibiotics? Is it safe to share antibiotics? Should you complete the course when given antibiotics? Learn more at: https://www.healthhub.sg/live-healthy/1970/Antimicrobial-Resistance-All-You-Need-to-Know
